What determines whether or not you feel safe in a particular city or neighborhood? Is it the amount of police protection, or do stats on violent crimes sway your feelings?
Well in a recent poll by the Gallup of the 50 biggest metro cities, the question was asked, “Do you feel safe walking alone at night?”
Surprisingly enough, on average city dwellers and the rest of nation don’t differ on how safe they feel in their respective surroundings. With 71% of city dwellers feeling safe and the rest of the nation coming in at 72%.
However the disparity in the most safe feeling place and the least is what really catches your eye, with a margin of 25%.
Below you can find a list of the top eight least safe feeling places. Oh and there would have been a solid 10, but seven cities tied for number nine.
